    1. [WHITNEY-L] Worm Virus Hit our List!!
    2. Jeanne Muse
    3. Dear Whitneys: I just retrieved a long string of e-mail messages and was reviewing them in my software, Outlook Express. One of them, from our list, from INFECTED with a virus - as my Norton Anti-virus software caught immediately and gave me the option to delete it. It reported that an ActiveX control was bad. I have experience with this virus - WScript.KAKWorm. It attachs itself as a hidden signature to any outgoing email message using Outlook Express. People don't usually know they have it or are spreading it to others until it is too late. A tell-tale sign is a weird error message that appears when Windows starts. You can also check your Signature (in the Tools menu) to see if the box at the bottom for File is checked. If it is, you are infected! BEWARE -- If you don't have anti-virus software installed on your computer, get some now. The virus/worms that I have heard about most recently are DEADLY and can crash your computer and disable Windows permanently, causing a complete loss of data! Also - go to Windows Update on Microsoft's Update pages and get any upgrades to Outlook Express, especially those concerning security issues, like ActiveX controls. Jeanne
