    2. Dear Louise: You wrote and asked, "What do you mean by "our website". What is the URL? I would be interested." The WRG (Whitney Research Group), of which you are a member if you are subscribed to the Whitney-L maillist, has a collective website at the following URL http://www.whitneygen.org/ On it you will find archives of all the maillist material since we put this group together some five years ago, extracted Whitney entries from the VR's of nearly 300 MA towns, as well as some for ME, NH, VT; Whitney extracts from the Barbour Index to CT records, Whitney census extracts for the whole country for a number of years, databases of the descendants of John and Elinor Whitney of Watertown (1635), Henry Whitney of Long Island and CT (ca 1640), and a group of Southern Whitneys who came to VA from Bermuda ca 1730-40; a complete transcription of the 600 page book on the family of John and Elinor, written by Frederick Clifton Pierce (pub. 1895); plus lots of other useful Whitney material. The website is very easy to use, it has an excellent interface that explains what each part contains, and it has an extremely useful search engine devised by one of our members. I urge you to spend some happy hours discovering what the WRG has already gathered and made available. It is very possible that the answers to some of your current questions may be found there. Good luck and Happy Hunting. Allan E. Green
