    1. [WHITNEY-L] Whitney Family Bible
    2. Kenneth Whitney
    3. Hello Jon, As you can see, I am sending your reply to the rest of the Whitney Research Group. If anyone has an interest in contacting the owner of the Bible, I am sure they will contact you directly. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your find. Ken Whitney Ken There's not too much more to include. The publishing date in the Bible is 1834, so whoever owned it entered their information in after the fact. The Bible is leather bound. There has been some water damage and it needs to be re-bound. It appears to be Catholic by the fact that it includes the Apocrypha and Maccabees. I'm not sure if I made it clear or not, but I have NO connection to the Whitney surname. I just saw an old Bible at an Antique store and wanted to reunite it with the proper family. I've been looking for the Grant family Bible from the same era with no success. So, every time I see a Bible in a store, I look at it. I'd hate to think that it was sitting in an antique store. The antique store owner is actually a co-worker of mine Monday-Friday. So, he let me bring it home after I explained to him that I may be able to find the rightful owners. He has posted a $40 price in the Bible. I hope that this helps. Regards...jon grant
