(Houghton) Whitney married after Aug 1843, as her second husband, Sidney Smith who was born in Westminster 20 Jul 1798 and died there 19 May 1871. Can anyone identify the Whitney that was her first husband? Dick Smith

From the vital records of Putney, VT, under marriages: "WHITNEY, Thomas, and Abigail HOUGHTON, both of Rindge, N.H., Sept. 22, 1841." I have no idea who this Thomas WHITNEY was, however!
