Perhaps someone has information on another John Whitney that ironically was born 1783 as did the recent query of a John from Thorndike, Me. This John was the son of Josiah, last of Bridgton, Maine and New Brunswick. Born July 23, 1783, we find only 2 scant records from this time - The purchase and disposition of land in Bridgton in 1813, at which time he states his residence as Brewer, Maine. We have checked many towns along the Penobscot River corridor without result but thought we would shortcut travel time should someone have this John in their database. The hope is that finding John would help in shedding light on the continuing Josiah Whitney controversy as well as the obvious expansion of family information. Larry Tracy
