Hi Karl (and others) -- I appreciate your suggestion that fall dates be considered for the Whitney Family reunion. I've often heard how lovely New England is in the fall and hope to experience it myself some day. Speaking for myself and my family, however, 2002 will not be the year we can get there after Labor Day or before June 10. As I posted to the list a few months ago, my wife, my school-age kids and I are looking forward to going to Massachusetts next year for the reunion, if it's feasible for us. But we could only go during the summer when school is out. Theoretically, we *could* fly out and back for a fall weekend, but practically we would not, because we would want to justify the cost of round-trip airfare for four from California by staying longer in New England while not missing school. We haven't visited the myfamily.com polling place but plan to soon. Any of the four proposed summer weekends would work equally well for our family. We know we might well be in a small minority of Whitney cousins who would prefer summer dates for the reunion. We appreciate the democratic way this is being conducted, and if a non-summer weekend is selected by a plurality of the group, we'll eagerly await reports on how the 2002 reunion went, and hold out hopes that we can make it to a future Whitney reunion. By the way, Happy Easter to all our Whitney cousins! Appreciatively, Richard H. Mathews & Patricia Whitney Mathews & kids Brea, CA
