Died bef 18 Feb 1847 in Warrick or Spencer Co, IN. Mary Zerilda Scanland was b: 10 Jul 1819 in KY and d: 13 Aug 1854 in Spencer Co, KY. She m/2 Jehoida Crooks on 7 Feb 1850. Joseph & Mary Whitney had 4 children: David Harvey b: abt 1836 IN (Sgt. Co. I 25th Regt. IN Vol); John M.W. b: abt 1840 IN; Bradford b: 1842 IN (removed to CA); Joseph Henry C. b: 1847 IN. Believe Joseph to be a brother to Henry S. & Joshua B. Whitney of NY/VT and IN/IL areas. These three men are in several court documents as surities for each other (Spencer Co, IN).
