Dear members of Whitney-- Looking for the parents of Henry S. Whitney. Born abt 1816 in NY (census). Married to Mahala McCoy 16 Dec 1841 in Spencer Co, IN. Do not know where he died...have found no reference to death in IN, IL or KY. Mahala born in Spencer Co, IN and died 26 Mar 1918 in Spencer Co, IN and buried in Bloomfield Cemetery, Spencer Co, IN. Henry & Mahala had 6 children: William B. b: 5 Dec 1842 d:1 Jun 1865 (Sgt. Co, C 42nd IN Regt.); Bradford C. b: 13 Dec 1845 d:3 Dec 1863; James Turner b: abt 1849; Eliza Anne b: 20 Aug 1852; Catherine b: 30 Jan 1856; and Thomas? b: abt 1850. Believe this Henry to be a brother of Joseph L. & Joshua B. Whitney also of NY/VT and IN/IL areas....Spencer Co, IN court cases usually involved 2 of these individuals or all 3 (surities, etc).
