    3. Dear Jerry: I looked in all of my databases for your people, but didn't have any luck. If you haven't done so already, I would suggest you do a "search" of the Whitney Research Group's site for Adeline/Adaline Whitney - http://www.whitneygen.org . I'll also send a copy of this message to the Whitney Research Group in case your info sounds familiar to any of the members. Good luck, and I wish I could help more! In the 1860 Wisconsin census for Black River Falls, Jackson County, dated 8 Jan, on page 13, I found the following: Adaline Whitney 34 F Washerwoman $80 Connecticut John 12 M Iowa James 8 M Iowa Joseph 6 M Michigan Rhoda Whitney 35 F Washerwoman $45 Connecticut Henry 19 M Laborer Iowa George 11 M Arkansas Rhoda 7 F Michigan David M. 4 M Michigan John above is John Henry Whitney born September 1847 in Nebraska according to the birth records. Of course at that time it was a territory so who knows what state they were born in. Adaline in various census is usually spelled as Adeline. All but one census said here birth place was Connecticut. The last census she was in, was completed by John H. and said her birthplace was Massachuetts. She was living with John at the time of the census. But my question is this, Does it seem that these two are sisters or cousins and that they were "Camp ladies"? I have not been able to find out anything more about either of the two. John Henry Whintey is my gggrandfather and I would like to know about he rest of the Whitney connection. Any information you hve or help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Jerry E.
