    3. Ann, The Pedigree Resource Files are copies of GEDCOM's that individuals have contributed. The difference between these and Ancestral File is they include a copy of an individual's genealogy database including notes. These are not merged files. When an individual submits an updated GEDCOM, the old one is preserved and the new one is inserted into the database. This could be a great way of backing up your database in case of extreme disasters such as crashing a hard drive.
