Hi List, I'm new to this list. I am looking for a living descendant of: Harriet (Hattie) Holt, b. abt 1857, who married Mariner T. Whitney, born abt 1855. They married sometime after 1880, because I found them both on the 1880 census, still living at home. Mariner was a store clerk at the time. Mariner's parents: T. Mariner Whtiney b. 1825, a marble cutter, and Beumeh Whitney b. 1827. Both families were living in Port jervis in Orange, NY, in 1880. Harriet's parents are (Brig. General) Thomas and Mary Holt. Her mother died prior to 1880, so Harriet and her 4 sisters were living at home with their father. Mariner's siblings are: L. Marcus; B. Galen; D. Eugene; E. Howell; E. Mary Harriet's siblings are: Emma, Jennie, Grace, and Augusta (Gussie) This family seems to have a thing for initials, instead of first names! Thanks for any and all help.
