Thanks Bev Hanner Hi, Found you in the Worcester County Archives and noted these two surnames. We have in our care, old family photo albums, containing mostly unidentified photographs. Of the few that are identified, there is a Bertha Whitney, age 5mos. and a Lena Barton ( or Bartow? ) Whitney, age 5 mos and another at 21 mos. There is also one of the girls sitting with their mother and another of the parents. My families are from Worcester County ( Gardner ). The photos are from a studio in Worcester, township. The time seems to be the mid 1800's. Do you know of a union of a WHITNEY in this area, with a BILLINGS, as my mother-in-law thinks that they come from that line?
