Hi Group: It is time for me to jump in and beg for help. My ggrandmother was Julia Whitney, born in Arkansas in 1865. The only information I have about her parents was that her father was born in Arkansas and her mother in Alabama. This board seems to have a lot of information on the "Northern Whitneys", but I am wondering if anyone has a lost Whitney in Arkansas and needs to find a place for him. I figure he was probably born in the 1830's to 1840's. There may have been at least one older child named Betty. Sometime between 1865 and 1880 the family made their way to Texas (at least Julia did). If anyone can help with this, or can direct me how to get in touch with Southern Whitneys, I would be ever so grateful. Regards, Debi Giltner
