This Solomon E. Whitney is in the Pierce records as number 5060. His father is Benjamin Whitney(#2612) from Clarendon, Rutland county, Vermont. Ben is buried in the local Marsh Cemetery. Look at the names Ben's children. These names are all in my lineage too! I believe we have a link. I have been tracing these folks since 1998. Look in the archived messages for my struggles. Sincerely yours, James E. Vermont on 1850 census Helen, Very interesting! I have contradictory birth info for Jacob - NY and CT. But Vermont is not that far away, and the parents could have moved between kids, too. I'm going to be in Salt Lake the end of April/beginning of May. If you want (and no one else is going to get to it sooner), I'll look into this when I'm there. Tricia
