Dear Kate and WRG: Oops! Forgive my tired brain. I included the remark (the second one) about Mary Whitney, christened and died in 1600. I was confusing this Mary with the two daughters of John and Elinor with that name that both died in England and did not come with the family to America. Common sense would suggest that John probably named his first and later daughters for his younger sister that died so young. Sorry for the mixup. Allan E. Green
