I believe most of this information is contained in the most recent John & Elinor database already, but thought I'd pass it along for those researching his descendants. The Joshua Whitney who married Sally Cochran is my three greats grandfather, and I have his and Sally's dates and birthplaces in his own handwriting. He was born March 25, 1750, in Canaan, Litchfield, CT. son of Joshua & Amy Blodgett, died in March of 1821 in Bridport, Addison Co., VT. ( I don't know why John Bacon, his nephew, has his birthdate as Nov. 28, but in Joshua's notebook, Sally's birthdate LOOKS like the 28th. Maybe Bacon mixed up their dates, somehow.) Sally was named Sarah, born November 23, 1763 in Colrain, Franklin, Mass., daughter of Col. Robert Cochran and Mary Miller. She married Joshua on December 1, 1785, and died on Jan. 29, 1810.
