I know there are others out there researching the missing link to Ebenezer Whitney (b. circa 1745) who may be interested in this. I have been corresponding with another descendent of Ebenezer named Hilary Foskett from Victoria, British Columbia who through her own research (and her aunt and grandmother's) have Samuel Whitney (b. 1719 in Maine) as the father of Ebenezer Whitney. Hilary is now 85 and said she got this information through her grandmother who lived in the area in New Brunswick and also she said she got a lot of her information from a series called "Vital Statistics from New Brunswick Newspapers" which was published by a local genealogist there. She had volumes from 1770 to 1880, but gave them to the Victoria Genealogical Society. Is there anyone who can validate this information or who has access to these newspapers? Hello Vicki, Since I last contacted you, I have found out more about this collection. The whole story can be located at the following URL: (www.rootsweb.com/~nbcarlet/nb_newspapers.htm). This project is of great potential to all of us working in New Brunswick. The volumes can be computer researched, and surname researches seem to be available. It also seems the individual volumes may be for sale. Hope this is of help.
