WRG's .. I thought someone out there might be interested to know that a house titled[in the RE ad ]"The Abraham Whitney Homestead-Thistle Farm" is for sale in Stow MA, priced at $525,000. You can read the online discription, but unfortunately they do not show the picture. Try <www.acton-realestate.com>. If you live nearby you might like to look at it, just for fun anyhow. It is described in the notice as "the rambling antique homestead of the founder of Stow, Abraham Whitney. The main part of this house, known for decades as Thistle Farm, was built in 1790, with additions in 1850 and in the early 1900's". First, I would guess that this Abraham was the son of Moses, who inherited land from his father. Secondly, I think this was "a stretch" on the realtor's part to claim any Abraham Whitney was a founder of Stow. My records show that the town was incorporated in 1683 and that Richard and Moses were living there in 1680-81. Any comments? Cheers! Jan
