Dear Stephen: You didn't mention the status of the person named I. Whitney in that Census. Was he the head of household? -- in which case, is he married and are there children? Was he a child in the household of someone else? -- in which case, have you looked at the 1900 census for the same location, to see what he turns into later? What is his age in that census?
