I e-mailed you several months ago. I know it was sometime ago. I was inquiring about information of a Frederick Whitney and his father Elwood Whitney. You said there was not any information you could give me. I have found information that Elwood is a descendant of John Whitney. The actual lineage would read Frederick, Elwood, Mordecai, Thomas, Phineas, Samuel, William, Nathaniel, John, John. My grandfather was Frederick Whitney. I do not have much information about his father as well as his aunts and uncles. I was wondering if you know of any one who may have more information on this lineage. I have been to the Whitneygen.org site. Elwood is listed. His wife's name is spelled incorrectly, but this is the Elwood I have been looking for. I have found all sorts of information dating from John to Thomas, but after that my information is very scarce. My grandfather died when I was eight. He passed away in 1982. His father (Elwood) passed away when he was a child. I am still searching for information on his father. Searching cemeteries for a place of burial as well as a death date. I know he died sometime around 1920 in Muncie, Indiana. I am getting closer. My grandfather (Frederick) would have had four uncles (Sherman, Sheridan, Grant, Harrison,) and an aunt (Mary). I have little information on them. If you know of any one who could help me I would so much appreciate it. Thank you. Kimberly ------------------------ Dear Kimberly: I'll forward your message to the Whitney Research Group. Maybe someone there will reply. You might consider subscribing to the list too. The instructions are on the web site. Good luck! Jeanne (Whitney) Muse jwmuse@compuserve.com
