    3. Thanks for the clarification, A.W. YES, I'd love to have your Henry Whitney families. I've been working many long hours with Phoenix's 3 Volumes. It will take me ~years~ to get everything entered. So, I'll take all the help I can get. I'm humbled by the amount of labor Phoenix put into his books, and for a man who was so young. His work is truly admirable and astonishing. I know from what I've read in his biography that he had some wealth and I would assume he acquired a staff of workers to assist him. He corresponded with thousands of families and received responses from them. Many, many of Henry's desc. moved to Ohio and then sometimes on to Michigan. I., ie; Flushing, Queens, L. I., NY, or for earlier entries:Jamaica Bay, Long Island, NY, or even Sheepshead, LI, NY. The counties have changed on Long Island, but everyone knows where Long Island is. Long Island City is not very big, and when people think of Long Island, they don't think of that town, they think of the entire island, which is like a county that way. When you ask someone where they are from, or where a town is, no one says, "Riverhead, in Suffolk County". They say "Riverhead, on Long Island", or Stoney Brook, out on Long Island, as opposed to, Stoney Brook, in Nassau County. Hope this meets with agreement, A. W. Brown By the way, if you are working on the Henry Database, I have some entries from my research into Michigan Families in 1850 that might be appropriate. I have sent some of the John desc. to Jon Aston, and if you'd like I can send some Henry kin to you. Surprising to me that more of the Whitney Families in MI in 1850 are Henry descendants than John's, but that seems to be the case.
