    1. [WHITNEY-L] Abigail Fletcher Whitney

    3. I'm still trying to nail down the parents of Abigail Fletcher, wife of Samuel Whitney (William, Nathaniel, John, John). One of our Whitney members was kind enough to give me a lot of data that she had collected. As I was going through the vital records for Concord, Middlesex Co., MA, I found an Abigail Fletcher of Concord who married Jonathon Bradstreet of Lunenburg on 15 Oct 1751 by Rev. Daniel Bliss. I don't know if this Abigail is the same one who is the daughter of John and Mary (Goble) Fletcher, born 2 July 1720 in Concord. If these 2 Abigails are the same person, she obviously is not the one who married Samuel Whitney in 1741 in Westminster, MA. If this is true, then the John and Mary (Goble) Fletcher line is not for Abigail Fletcher Whitney. I have not yet checked for a will of John Fletcher, which might mention his married daughter Abigail. Is that too much to hope for? Sandy (Whitney) Fahrnbruch

Is that too much to hope for? >Sandy (Whitney) Fahrnbruch I found the following in the LDS records. Of course it must be verified!! Jonathan BRADSTREET was baptized 22 Jun 1690, Rowley, MA, and d. 22 May 1757, Lunenburg, MA. Samuel FLETCHER was born 30 Nov 1692, Concord, MA, and married Abigail HUBBARD on 18 Jan 1721, Concord, MA. She was b. 23 Jan 1698, Concord, MA. Apparently Samuel died, and the widow Abigail married Jonathan. If this can be substantiated, that disposes of your alternate candidate. Support for this theory is supplied by the death memoir of Henry Fletcher, which appears in the _New England Historical and Genealogical Register_, vol. 108, pp. 153-154, where it says, "Samuel Fletcher, son of the above named Joseph, was born in Concord 30 Nov 1692, living 12 April 1737, and died before 3 May 1750. He married in Concord, 18 Jan 1721/2, Abigail Hubbard, born there 23 Jan. 1698/9, died in Barre, Mass., 16 April 1778, as the widow of Capt. Jonathan Bradstreet, a daughter of Jonathan and Hannah (Rice) Hubbard." Regards, Robert Robert L.
