Dear Whitney: I was finally able to get a search going on the WRG web site (http://www.whitneygen.org) and used Rebecca Blodgett as my search words. I came up with the following D.A.R. Extract -- http://www.whitneygen.org/archives/military/dar/dar11.html If you use the Find feature of your browser and ask it to look for Blodgett on that page, you'll end up scrolling down 3/4 of the page to Volume 108, page 233 - the record of Mrs. Carrie Whitney Wright. It shows that your John Whitney was the son of Oscar D.Whitney (1826-1907) and Anna Maria Jennings (1842-1908), even though the transcription shows John's death year as 1833, rather than 1838 as you stated. I did another search on the site for Oscar and then for the word Jennings -- nothing found in the right date ranges. Someone else in the group may have an Oscar D. WHITNEY born in 1826, so I have forwarded a copy of this message to the group. I will hang onto your Gedcom and insert them in the Misc. Whitneys database in case nothing else materializes. Good luck! I have attached my entire file of BLODGETT, WHITNEY, WOODARD, ARNETT, WRIGHT, HITE, JENNINGS, VANNOY and others. My stumbling block on my Whitney line is John Whitney. I have his pension record of the War of 1812. It indicates that he was born 22 January 1780 (not clear, but possibly in Onondaga County, New York). He and Rebecca Blodgett were definitely married in Onondaga County, New York on the 29th of January 1805. They had ten children. John died the 6th of March 1838 in Alden, Erie County, New York. This line has been approved by NSDAR, through Benjamin Blodgett Jr. (Rebecca'sfather). Looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great week. Whitney.
