Hi All, I think that I have found Gratia Frances WHITNEY, b. abt 1834 and Edward Cutter LOCKE in Rogersville, Tennessee in 1860. Does anyone know of a Gratia Frances WHITNEY who was b. in Vermont and who lived, also, in Fitchburg, Worcester, MA? Does anyone have anything more on this family Here is what was found in the Tennessee census: HAWKINS COUNTY TENNESSEE 1860 CENSUS E.C. Locke , age 42 Gratia Locke , age 26 Ella W. Locke , age 2 The family was enumerated in the hotel of J.W. Burkhart in Rogersville, Tennessee (District 10). His occupation was "Daguerman." He was born in Massachusetts, Gratia in Vermont, and Ella W. in Tennessee. Edward went on to become secretary and treasurer of the Black Diamond Coal Company in Tennessee.
