Robert, I notice in this e-mail from Kess that John Whitney Sr. is pared with Elinor Arnold. I have seen Elinor Arnold before and wonder if this is correct, is there evidence to support it? I have also seen discussions regarding Elinor( that she is not a Bray) but can't find those discussions now. We are doing a Whitney Family book, I would like to know for sure(if it is known by anyone) if Elinor's last name has be discovered. I also would like to find the information for it not being Bray. Hi Guys, I had a motherboard and hard drive failure that destroyed all of my data. I can't remember the last time I shared my GEDCOM with anybody. But if I have sent you a copy this year please let me know and send me a copy back. On a happier note, I'm about to take off for three weeks to Alaska and Canada. Thanks to all for your kind expressions of sympathy and offers of prayers. My father was amazed by the research that can be done in genealogy, and I used to share stories about some of my mother's ancestors with him. Dad's own background is much more difficult due to immigration and records lost during WWII, but I keep plugging away. The hardest thing I have ever done was entering his death date and information into my database. While visiting the Concord, MA, Museum Sunday I happened to ask a docent if he knew of any Whitneys in Concord. He chuckled and said he plays Thomas(I think and hope) Whitney, the Quartermaster of the colonial defenders when the British first came to Concord. Dear WRG....one last thing..Every summer I take my daughter to Narragansett Rhode Island.....The waves are soooo huge there....she always had such a good time...even by herself......Last summer we spent 10 days at Newport Rhode Island...we had such a good time there..We stayed at Inn on the Long Warf.....BUt we drove up the coast to Narragansett for the large waves......We even took the ferry to Block Island....Block Island is off the coast of Rhode Island...Much like Martha's Vineyard is off the coast of Mass.
