White was granted permission by John Kent on 30 Mar 1811 in Amite Co., MS, (just across the state line from Feliciana Parish) to marry his step-daughter Patience Smith, who was a minor (probably under 18). John was a Notary Public in E. Feliciana Parish, where his household with Patience, 8 sons, and 1 daughter, are found in the 1830 census. Their household was also listed in the source parish of Feliciana in 1820. I found neither John nor Patience in 1850 E. Feliciana. If you know anything about this family, please contact me.
