He was granted a headright certificate for one-third of a league of land by the Houston County Board in 1838. Republic of Texas, Houston County} Personally appeared before me, E. Garrett, an acting Justice of the Peace for said county, Levi W. White, who, after being duly sworn, deposeth and sayeth that he does not owe this government one cent on his own account or that of any other person and that the _____ discharge is true and original. On the 1860 Conecuh Co., Alabama Census they were listed with more children. 1860 US Census: Nathanville Post Office, Conecuh County, Alabama. Levi lists age as 57 years, Eliza as 46. In this census, he lists his birthplace as Mississippi, Eliza's as South Carolina. The children are all listed as being born in Alabama. His occupation is farmer, total estate worth $1800.
