Hello, As for me, since I know my White line back to pre-Rev War Va/SC, I would like to simply know what happened to the uniforms and equipment of my g.g.grandfather John Warren White and his four brothers that fought in The War for Southern Independence, or at least if anyone has a pic of any of them in their uniform. Unfortunately our family has not had contact with the descendents of his other four brothers since the mid 1800s. I do have a pic of a South Carolina Soldier in his South Carolina uniform. It was found in a box along with other old family pics in a box under my grandmother's bed after she died. I believe it to be my g.g.grandfather or one of those White brothers, or at least a close relative. The uniform matches discriptions I have read about describiing the uniform of the Palmetto Sharpshooters, S.C. Vols.. That is the unit that my g.g.grandfather and his brothers were in.
