I have a Calvin White b. abt April 1803 probably in Massachusettes or New York. Seeking any clarification/insight into his wive(s) and/or child(ren) According to family lore he wrote campaign songs in the war of 1812 and received a pension which he used ot obtain land in Michigan. He supposedly fathered two children Lorenzo H and Mariah Antoinette who married into the Alverson family (Mary Smith Alverson and Lewis Alverson respectively). Records are confusing on a middle name - some show Otis and others Grover. Naming patters of chldren include Calvin and Otis but I haven't found "Grover" in other generations. Also, If Calvin is Lorenzo H White's father - he would have been very young indeed (abt 15 according to census records) when this occurred. I have not been able to definately pin down a birth/death date or location for Calvin. Any insight? Macomb Michigan marriage records have Calvin White and Julianna(Turrell) Boughton Marriage: 29 JAN 1842, Macomb, Michigan Husband Age at Marriage: 38 Wife Age at Marriage: 26 I believe this is the second or third marriage for Calvin White. I also believe that Lorenzo and Mariah had different mothers based on letters written by Mary Smith (Alverson) White and the age difference between the two children.
