I am seeking any info on the parents of John Louis Anderson White b. 3 Apr 1829 VA supposedly of Irish descent; he m. Lucinda MASTRESS (of MO, Dutch descent) in Missouri abt. 1853. He signed documents as "John L. A. White". They had 11 children all born in the Gallatin, Daviess Co., MO area. In 1873 he traded his 80 acre farm in MO for a 304 acre farm in Collin County, TX, sight unseen from a man who was homesick for Missouri. He moved his family across Missouri, across Indian Territory and onto Collin Co., TX with 2 wagons, 5 brood mares and $500.00 in his pocket. John L. A. White took up drinking & lost most of his money. He then moved onto OK to homestead; so he took part in the Land Run (not sure of the date). This move was also prompted by the deaths of two of his daughters within 6 weeks of each other; Melvina (GARRETT) d. Aug 1882 of childbirth complications and so did Louell B. (KILGORE) die in Oct 1882 of the same. He & Lucinda died in Mountain Park, Kiowa Co., OK in 1907 & 1909 respectively. Can anyone help me take this family further back? They were my grgrgrandparents.
