He married first Eleanor Wilson (alias "White") 24 February 1825 in Erie, Mill Creek Co, PA. She was born 29 June 1805 in Erie County, PA and died 1877 in Earlville, La Salle County, Illinois, daughter of Nathaniel Wilson and Hannah Phillips (alias "Wilson"). He married second Bethiah Witt 5 March 1878 in La Salle County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Elijah Witt and Diannah Lisley (?). Children of James White and Eleanor Wilson : i. Nathaniel Wilson (called "Wilson) White was born About 1826 in Erie, PA and died 1852 in California. It is not known if he married or had children. ii. 3. James Jefferson (called "Jeff" or "Jefferson") White was born 14 January 1828 in Erie, Erie County, PA and died 16 March 1882 in Saline County, Missouri. iii. 4. Lavinia White was born 8 February 1830 in Erie, PA and died 13 June 1914 in Mitchell. iv. Emma White was born About 1833 in Erie, PA and died About 1836 in Toledo, Ohio. (Shows the family moved from PA to OH between 1833 and 1836) v. 5. George W. White was born 1839 in Toledo, Ohio and died 7 November 1876 in Fairfield, Clay County, OH. vi. Hamilton H. White was born 1842 in Lucas County, Ohio. Hamilton supposedly served in the Civil War with Sherman and was in the famous "March to the sea". She was born 1837 in Ballston, Saratoga County, daughter of Jesse Van Namee and Ann Francisco (alias "Van Namee"). He married second Jemimia Frances Elizabeth "Fanny" Murdock. 4. Lavinia White (James2, James1) was born 8 February 1830 in Erie, PA and died 13 June 1914 in Mitchell. She married George Wallace 4 July 1849 in LaSalle County, Illinois. 5. George W. White (James2, James1) was born 1839 in Toledo, Ohio and died 7 November 1876 in Fairfield, Clay County. He married Sarah A. Avery 2 October 1861 in Earlville, La Salle County, Illinois. 6.
