Kent (and others) I'm a descendant of the Whites of Halifax Co., but I don't know where they came from (for sure) before late 1700's. I wonder if our Whites go together? I have some names and dates, court records, as parameters. Mignon Nicholson
Hello Mignon, The farthest White ancestor I know for sure was my 6th or 7th great grandfather, Col. Henry White of Spartanburg, S.C.. Now my great grandfather, Rev. Wm. Henry White, said that two brothers had come from England in the early 1800s and one settled in Va and the other in S.C., he being Col. Henry White. But subswqent research shows that my Henry White was first in Orange Co., Va., then moved to South Carolina in or around 1755 or a bit later. he married there in Va and some of his kids were born there. Other than this I know nothing about their origins. I wish I did though. Take care, Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mignon Nicholson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, July 08, 2003 8:47 AM Subject: [WHITE] Re: WHITE-D Digest V03 #63 > Kent (and others) > > I'm a descendant of the Whites of Halifax Co., but I don't know where they came > from (for sure) before late 1700's.
