    1. [WHITE] Danish sea Capt White
    2. Virginia Ferrante
    3. Hello, this may be an imposible task.. My grandmother said there was a Danish sea captain in the family and his name was White. I have no clue as to what relation he was. Her mother's name was Harriet Ann White b. June 10, 1845 and was married to Nathan Hall Herrick on June 10 1863. ( her father's name was Charles Frost White, but in the census record for her it lists her father as born in Maine.) Therefore, he cannot be the White in question. How far back this goes i don't know. He was said to have shipwrecked and stayed and married someone he met at a quilting bee (?). I have no dates, ship name or any other data on this seaman. Not knnowing the "mores" of the era (or even the era), i don't know if that is correct. If anyone has come across a captainWhite having been in a shipwreck in North America waters, i would appreciate a heads up for guidance. One helpful (if not producing snything yet) hint is that possibly the name (since Gram said Danish) that his name! could be spelled Hvid or Hviid. for White. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you. virginia Holt Ferrante [email protected]
