    3. David, I find the names in your Spartanburg, SC WHITE family very interesting. Names in my WHITE family line which I first find in 1810 census, Pulaski Co.,KY include Edward, David, Henry, Warren, John, William, Simon, Joel. My WHITE's intermarried with families from VA, SC & NC, but I have not yet been able to go back further than 1810. Edward WHITE died in military service in 1815. I would be interested in more information about your Spartanburg WHITE families. Henry White: Rev. War, Whites in S.C. to Texas?? Hello, My 6th great grandfather was Col. Henry White of Spartanburg, S.C.. I have a file I have put together on my White line from that area, and I have an old pen and ink drawing of him in uniform that is an aged, old ornately carved wooden frame. I had some copies made of it too. I also have a little info on Col. White, but not much. If anyone has any info on Col. White it would be greatly appreciated. His great grandson was John Warren White, the son of Hiram White. J.W. White fought in The War for Southern Independence and along with three of his five brothers died in the war. I have a glass plate type pic of a C.S. officer in what appears to be the uniform of the Palmetto Sharpshooters, the unit the White brothers mostly served in. I wish I could know for sure who the pic was. After the war John Warren White's widow remarried a Mr. James Henry Calvert and they and some friends and relatives migrated to Cooke Co, Texas, the oldest son, Edward Walker White, the brother of my great grandfather Rev. Wm. Henry White, settled in Amarillo, opening a store there with his wife's brothers, the Kirks. The store was White and Kirk Drygoods or something like that. Edward was also in the mining business. I am also interested in meeting and corresponding with his descendents. I also have pics of him, his wife, Leota Alice Kirk, and their children, Dean White and a daughter I think. Take care, David Middleton Edelen II ==== WHITE Mailing List ==== WHITE LIST ADMINISTRATOR <[email protected]>
