I am not a genealogist or even a "White", but I have recently transcribed all 400+ pages of the White Family Recorder (written 1919-1934). The primary focus of the WFR is the Henry William White (1767 NJ) and the Margaret Reynolds line. However, the editor of the WFR also writes about the siblings of Henry W. White, including his brother, Alward. According to the WFR, "Alward" was the maiden name of Henry White's mother. I don't know if there is a connection, but "Alward" does not strike me as being a common given name. Henry's brother Alward was a Reverend and had a son named "Alward."
