1850 Census Charles White, age 72, no occupation, born in Maryland Maria White, age 46, born Delaware John White, age 11, born Delaware Margaret White, age 8, born Delaware James T. White, age 5, born Delaware I believe that Charles is buried at Bryn Zion Church in Kent County, Delaware. Not sure if Maria is there with him or not. I don't believe that she is. It is possible that she remarried after Charles' death. Charles was born in 1777. He died 4/26/1859. After Charles' death, Maria appears to have moved to New Castle County, Delaware (Wilmington area) where she is running a boarding house on Tatnall Street. She's listed there in the 1860 census as a widow with John and Rebecca Hurley (early 30s) and a William T. Thompson, age 7. Maria's maiden name may have been Matterford. I found a microfilm record that listed a Charles White and Maria Matterford married on or about 6/30/1838. If any of this is familiar to anyone, please let me know.
