In response to the lady looking for a Hugh White, we have a Hugh Lawson White in the history books in Tennessee. You might want to check this out. Also, I seem to remember another white from North Carolina who did, in fact, marry a Native American. I think I saw this info on ancestry.com. I, too, am looking for whites in North Carolina. This White is Stephen White, born November 11, 1762. He married Elizabeth Searcy from Granville County, NC and settled for a time in Madison County, Kentucky.
