    1. [WHITE] Looking For My Whites
    2. Sharon Cobb
    3. Hey all It has been awhile since I posted but it appears to be some new activity on the board so I'm trying again! I am looking for information on my family but do not have ALOT to go on. Any help is appreciated! GJ White was said to have come over on a boat from Ireland with two brothers. Rumor has it that one brother went off without the other two once they arrived in the states and that brother would be GJ. Rumor has it that he took a Native American Indian wife and had several children including a Hugh White and George Washington White. He supposedly went to take a family helper home one day and never returned. The story goes that years later one of the sons was in a lumber store and signed his name and the clerk there asked him if he had written his name wrong as the name was identical to another man but the middle initial was different. As they talked it shocked him to learn that this man with the same name also had brothers with the same names as his siblings. He contacted the man to learn that they did indeed have the same father. GJ White had ran off with the "family helper" and started a new family all together, giving them very similar names as his first family. GJ supposedly had served in a war and had his heal blown off. And the new family supposedly produced the Hugh White that was once the govenor of Mississippi. Now all of this is rumor and has not been confirmed. What I do know for sure is that the son of GJ White, George Washington White had children named Hugh Franklin, Melvin, George Newton and a Nina (or something along those lines). The three brothers all married Park(s) sisters. Hugh Franklin married Lula Mae Park. In later years George Washington remarried Lou (Lucy) Jane Park. Lou Jane was Lula Mae's mother. I'm not sure who his frist wife was that produced Hugh, Melvin, George and Nina. I'm not real sure where all of this took place either other than to say possibly Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. I do know that George Washington died in either Monroe county or Lowndes county Mississippi. Hugh Franklin and Lula Mae lived the majority of their later years in Monroe County Mississippi in the Hamilton area. Lou Jane died in New Braunsville Texas ( I hope I spelled that correctly ). She was buried in Monroe County Mississippi however. I hope I haven't confused you and thanks so much for being patient and reading this long email. Thanks for any and all help!
