My family is mostly from Michigan although it is rumored that they came from either NY or Pennsylvania to Michigan and from England before that. Died 1893 age 50/51 in Tyrone Twp., Kent Michigan Charles enlisted in Army 1864 at Kalamazoo, Mich. Co. F 14th infantry Served 16 mo. Mustered out in Louisville, Kentuckt in 1865 m.1 Eliza Jane Anway (no additional info) Children: Charles O White b. <1861>+ Elizabeth Bentley in Michigan. Child Ralph Alverton b, <1863> Leroy (Lee) b. <1865> Lizzie b. 1873 Married George Hill in Mich. Lived in Tyrone Twp., Kent Co., Mich. Children: Hilbert, George, Sadie, Richard, ______. Mary J. b. 1867 died 1879 age 12 in Fabius, Michigan On the 1880 census Charles is living w/ his 2nd wife and some of the children from the 1st marriage while wife #1 is living w/ Henry White (?) and some of the children. It's a mystery to me. m.2 Mrs. Mary E Davis (nee Lawrence) b. abt 1855 mother from mich. father from Canada. Mary died btw 1891-1900 in Kent, Mich. Marriage in Leonidas, St. Joseph County, Michigan July 16, 1876 performed by John Foreman, JP. Children: Mattie born 1879 died 1879 age 3 months in Leonidas Hortense Mae b. 1880 in Leonidas, St. Joseph Co., Mich Married: William Woodrick & Mr. Bowerson in Mich.
