Jumping onthe band wagon here and reposting. I had some great information on my Whites and my comp crashed big-time I lost everything I had but information from my Great Aunt Lexa's "Book of my memories and special events" My Grandmothers maiden name was White. She was Freezie Corniela White born 8/01/1902 White Plaines Surry County VA died 1987 VA Beach VA. Freezie's parent's were William Riley White (Will) born 1859 or 1858 depending on who you ask,and Susan Jackson Jones White age unknown (second marrage for both). Will and Susan had two other daughters together Lexa born 12/24/1896, Carrie born 9/07/1899. Both had been married before Will was married to Susan's sister Elizabeth Jackson they had one son Joe Bill White he was two when his mother died after having all her teeth removed. Susan had been married to Lenord Jones date and reason for death unknown. They had four children two died of malaria Maggie at 6 years old and Hubert 12. the two surviving childern were Albert who was born 1882 and Leatha born 1884. I am not sure of death dates of any or the birth years of the two that died as children. Will's parents were William Riley known as Riley and Sarah Nicholes. I know this William Riley White served in the Confederate Army of the Civil War and died from exposure shortly after the war ended. Not quite sure what kind of exposure I would guess from being in the cold but it's just a guess. Riley and Sarah had six children two sons William Riley and John, four daughters Molly who married a Hodge, Martha, Sarah and Winnie. I have no information on the latter three. Molly lived near by and is mentioned in my Great-Aunt Lexia's book of memories as she called it. Sarah Nicholes White died in 1900. Any bells ringing out there?
