My ancestor is the above "Capt" Samuel Williams who fought in Rev. War and wife Jane. It's hard to believe but I have found FOUR different maiden names for "Jane" - White, Moore, Pope, and Brasswell. Some of this is on the "net" and some from various related family records. The extracted Edgecombe County will's that I have found only use "Jane" - however, a distant Williams relative stated that the will states:"His legatees were: wife, Jane White Williams, executrix; sons: Samuel and William......... Known children are: Samuel, William, Jacob, George, Lucretia (Creese) and Sampson. Can someone verify that Samuel's will really does state "Jane White Williams?" Since I've also seen Jane listed as a Moore (dau of George) and I've also seen Jane was a Pope and also married a Richard Brasswell. Was "Jane" married more than once? Need help in clearing up this part of the line. Also would like to exchange info. on the children.
