It has been some time since I posted this inquiry. I'm hoping someone with the information has joined the group since then. I am looking for the ancestors of a CARRIE B. WHITE, my grandmother. She was born Jan. 15, 1873 & married John J. Pennybacker in VA, July 25, 1900. Her father was a MEADE FITZHUGH WHITE (1847-1898) & her mother, ELLIE FITZHUGH DONAGHE (1854-1926). Her p. grandfather was HAMDEN A. WHITE (1812-1888) & her g. mother, CAROLINE BATTAILE FITZHUGH (1811-1852). I have been able to trace the Fitzhugh line back to the 17th century in Bedford, England, but HAMDEN A. WHITE represents a dead-end of many years. Does it look familiar to any of you?
