Interesting discussion, regarding the eBay notice of "SaltLakeGenealogist," though it is somewhat off- topic, I would guess. Anyway, I'm hoping that some of you can help me. I have no Whites in my ancestry, but I recently published a Digital (machine searchable) Edition of Kellogg's "Memorials of John White, One of the First Settlers of Hartford, Connecticut, and of His Descendants," originally published in Hartford, 1860. A neighbor lent the original to me for this purpose, because she wanted copies for her children and grandchildren. Being happy to oblige, I scanned the text and OCRd it to produce a reasonably priced CD edition in Rich Text Format. I would imagine that this might be of interest to some White family researchers, and even more so because I have have provided a free on-line copy of the book's index and have offered a free look-up service for contents of this volume and other classic genealogies that I have published on CD. I am prepared to "lurk" on the White surname list for the purpose of helping people when I find that information they are seeking in the "Memorials of John White," but I am obviously a "comercial" operation (though I operate much below cost) and so I will tell them only that the information they seek exists in such-and-such a source. If my presence here under these conditions offends anyone, please tell me, and I will graciously bow out.
