Ozment b. 1809 (July 2, 1809) b. 1800 d. 7/10/1835 d. 12/1845 m 5 June 1821 I found this in my records from The Billy Eddings - could be William of which I have numerous records of a William Eddings, but as yet can’t fit them together. I need the father of Caswell Eddings & any info on Edney, his wife. She was born in Tenn., him in N. Carolina. They had children in Limestone Co, AL and Wright Co., MO. One child was Caswell Dennis, my grandfather. I have names of his brothers and sisters from census. Sorry not to be of more help. Thanks for your letter, Mrs. Gurney. PS – I tried to copy the census records like they were written. My writings is bad enough but some of the census takers were terrible. There is a book of the descendents of Richard Ozment. Probably the one on the 1830 Wilson Co Tenn. census. I read it. I guess Richard was an uncle to our John Jasper. He, Richard, was not part of the bunch who went to Wilmer and I don’t believe. In case you don’t know, the Eddings were related. Billy? Eddings was supposed to be a cousin to the two Ozment boys who came over here with General Robert Lafayette to help George Washington fight the British. I’m watching for a marriage record of John Jaspers marriages to the Morgan girls but so far no luck. If we could even find the one for Margaret we could prove some things. The list of children you sent me looks pretty good for both mothers. You don’t have a Margaret, 17 years old 1850 but that could be who you are calling Ridley who married Hodges & Hill. Murdock McIntosh was the last of Ann’s children and was born in Tenn. And John L, the first of Margaret’s children was born in Tenn. I’ll look in Tenn. for a marriage record. I lost my 1830 Gulford Co. record. I’ll do it again then send you a copy.” Eva
