AHH, this one interests me very much also, as my White line is descended from Thomas, via Alexander (1558 d. 1595), Thomas (1587-8 d. 1664), John (d 1682), Daniel (1668 d. ?), Joseph (1704 d. ?), Joseph (1737 d 1795), Joseph (3) (1764 d 1830), Ansell (1840 d. 1877), Winfield S, (1861 d. 1946), I believe Alexander was a brother of William White, that landed in 1620. Probably more than you wanted to know HA! Thanks, Paul Marguerite Crist Calvin <margaret@jced.org> wrote: From a McArthur, Ohio, newspaper is this obituary. I am interested because this family lived near our William & James White. James claimed they were also a Mayflower descendant. April 6, 1977 PARK BENEFACTOR DIES Harry B. WYMAN for whom McArthur Park was named, died Sunday in a convalescent Home in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Wyman was born in a log house 1 1/4 miles south of McArthur, the only son of 7 children born to R. H. and MAGGIE ANN WHITE Wyman. Maggie WHITE was a direct descendant of William WHITE of the Mayflower Colony which landed on Plymouth Rock in December, 1620. There is more about Mr. Wyman but n othing more about his wife or the WHITE line. If Maggie is indeed a direct descendant, there is a possibility she is connected to OUR William White also. Any suggestions of direction of research? Anything would be most appreciated!! And Thanks for any!! Margaret Crist Calvin, wife of Daren E. Hey!! When you are desparately looking for A William White, you are glad for anything. I hope to get back to McArthur library soon. We have this wonderful lady who has for years been collecting info and bits from papers, and has this collection of black notebooks - over 100 - with obits etc in them! That's where I found that but haven't had time to look further. I'm beginning to think James White was just an old man telling stories. There were 3 sets of William/James Whites that came into Washington co OH, and got land out ahead of the Natives. Descendants of all three sets don't claim us. Ah well!! If I learn any more I'll let you know. Your given names don't connect with our William. Lemuel, Andrew, Moses, James and William. My husband's line is William, James M., and Oliver. I can't even find Oliver's first name or middle name or whatever. EVERY record seems to be just Oliver. Thanks for responding.
