Ladies, I think some of you may have missed a line in an e-mail somewhere back a ways. DNA testing which is being done on many lines at the $100/$200 level is only for direct male descendents (ie Jones, son of Jones who is son of Jones, who is son of Jones etc.) The markers being evaluated are carried on the male chromosome and pass from father to son to son. There is also a female test available, but it is much more expensive (2X or 3X or maybe more) because of the complexities involved.
