    3. In April of 2002 Donna Gray asked: My ggg grandfather Wiley Wood married Nancy Harris on November 24, 1802 in Madison County, Kentucky. Marriage consent for the bride was given by her brother John Harris and consent was also given by Zachariah & Jemima Wilburrn. I am wondering if anyone knows the children of Jemima Harris White who married Henry White (by posting on Genforum)? Does anyone know how the Nancy Harris and her brother might be connected to jemima and Zachariah Wilburn? In Granville County, North Carolina lived the family of Sherwood Harris and his wife Jane Hudspeth. I BELIEVE that Sherwood Harris was the son of Robert Harris and his wife Elizabeth Turner. Sherwood and Jane Harris had the following children: Mary Harris , who married Absalom Hicks and died aft. 1770 in Granville County, NC. Elizabeth Harris Ann Harris ---- I THINK she may be Nancy Ann Harris, and POSSIBLY the one listed above who married Wiley Wood. Jemima Harris, who married Henry White and Zachariah Wilbourn. I have that Jemima and Henry had one daughter, Mercy White. John Harris Sarah Harris, who married Thomas Harris Sherwood Harris Jr. , who married Rebecca Wilkins and Judith Woodall. I hope this is the answer or at least gives you some leads in answering your questions. Ira L. Harris III Evansville, Indiana

    2. Absolutely! Jemima White Wilburn was born a Harris - sister of Sherwood Harris. I show that Jemima and Henry White had the children: see my research on gencircles.com. I suspect that Stephen White, son of Jemima might be our Stephen White, born 1762, who married Elizabeth Searcy. I have been unable to prove this theory other than the following that appeared on Stephen's pension records as folows: White Family Genealogical Abstracts for Revolutionary War Soldiers by Elnore White Farquhar, Heritage Books, Inc. S3542 NC Stephen White born 25 Nov 1762 Granville Co NC Died 9 March, 1846 in Rutherford Co TN Applied for pension in 1832 Rutherford Co TN Entered service at Granville Co NC. Resided; Granville Co to 1784; then to Madison Co KY until 1805- then to Rutherford Co TN wife; Elizabeth Searcy Step father- Zechariah Williams served with him. Stephen White also served in War of 1812 Help me piece together this puzzle? -----Original Message----- From: barebear@insightbb.com To: White-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, 15 Nov 2006 7:22 PM Subject: Re: [WHITE] Harris & White In Granville County, NC In April of 2002 Donna Gray asked: My ggg grandfather Wiley Wood married Nancy Harris on November 24, 1802 in Madison County, Kentucky.
