    3. Jim, many thanks, soon I hope to get some info. from the White FT DNA site, and I belong to the British Isles Project #1. So, let us keep in touch... So far no connection with your particular line...but, the Whites started their surname in the main from Walter Le White, son of Maurice Fitz-Gerald, Conqueror of South Ireland, Dublin and Wexford in particular. One Tracy Tucker of my project with 12-12 match traced his earliest ancestor, one Thomas Tucker of Finglas parish, (North Dublin) Dublin Co., Ireland. Of interest also, was the Tucker lineage from Va., Charles City Co., Amelia Co., Lunenburg Co., and Mecklenburg Co., all Va., prior to 1850 Lincoln Co., TN. Removal. I believe our line is that traced pedigreewise on the internet re: the Fitz-Gerald family with their White family origins--back to Otho Gherardini of Tuscany, Italy. But more DNA work must come in to help this pedigree via verification. I am a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, trying to preserve our Confederate heritage, history. I do Confederate Texas art in honor of my Upshur Co., Texas ancestors. If you would like to see such work out of curiosity I would be happy to give you details for on-line viewing/e-mail. Exactly where is anyones guess. My first proven records of him appear in Orange County, VA in 1732. My best guess is that he lived in Caroline or Spotsylvania Co. prioir to that time. He married a Elizabeth Powe. Their family seemed to travel with Allen, Taylor, Holcomb, Davenport and Gambill familioes. Their children included: William, John, Elizabeth, Reuben, James Taylor. They moved from Orange Co., VA to Craven Co., SC about 1757. Most members of this family group moved to Burke Co., NC by 1776-78. William married Sophia Davenport,, James Taylor married Jesurha Davenport, John married Sarah Gambill (first cousin to Sophia and Jesurha), Reuben married an Allen, Elizabeth married a Holcumb, Reuben was killed in indian wars in "Old Washington Co., NC." John and James Taylor moved to TN and then floated the TN River to Natchez, MS. There they got French land grants and later Spanish grants in LA. My group (John and Sarah Gambill White) settled in St. Martinville, LA area. The died there, I descend from their older son William and Amy Comstock. William died in LA, but Amy and many to her children came to TX with the "Old 300" Sephen F. Austn settlement. They took lands on both sides of the San Jacinto River from the battlegrounds north to passed present day Crosby, TX.. I descend from their son George and his son James Taylor White, Sr. James Taylor White, SR. later moved to Balls/Bell County and then to San Saba and Llano Counties. My Grandfather was James Taylor White, Jr. He married Sarah Elizabeth Whitt. She descended from William Maguire Whitt and Mary Evelyn Altizer. (Both of their families came from Tazewell Co., VA by way of KY to TX) If any of this sounds familliar, or oif, our line might be connect prior to 1710, please get back in touch. I am listed on the Family Tree DNA site.
