Candy. I, too, would like to find a James White of South Carolina, but one who was born many years earlier. My James must have been born abt. 1790, since he died in 1836. He took land in Morgan Co., GA in about 1810 or ealier, and married Hannah Hughey on 8 Dec. 1811 in Morgan Co., GA. I believe that his father was Joseph White of S.C., since there is a record of Joseph giving his son James some slaves. Perhaps your James was a descendant of my James White. Bill
