    3. Hello Anna & Listers: I have not been able to get my g.g.grandfather, Burgess White, past Alabama. By the Census records they came from South Carolina. In the 1830 Walker County, Alabama Census, three Whites were living close. Jephthah, b. 1805, S.C. Elbert, b. 1806, S.C. Burgess, b. 12-25-1808, S.C. I haven't found Jephthah after 1830. Burgess married Nancy Calvert, and they stayed and raised their family in Alabama. Elbert married Eunice Calvert, who was a sister to Nancy. Elbert and Eunice lived in Walker/Blount counties Alabama until abt. 1842, their first 9 kids were born there. They moved to McNairy County, Tennessee before 1843, lived there about 10 years, 4 or 5 kids were born in Tn. They were in Polk County, Arkansas by 1855, and their last one or two kids were born there, for a total of 15. They were in Polk county in 1860 census, and most of the kids were still at home including James, 22, and John, 14. Some of this family later moved to the Indian Territory, where Oklahoma is now. I found White families in South Carolina in the late 1700s, but can't connect mine yet.
